Information on Membership

The Queen of Peace Praesidium held its first
meeting in November of 1990 at St. Edward
Parish, Mendon, IL under Fr. Louis Schlangen,
Spiritual Director. Since that time there has
been over 900 weekly meetings. Currently the
Praesidium has 2 Spiritual Directors, 3 Active
Members and 63 Auxiliary Members. The works
of the Active Members covers mainly St. Joseph
of Quincy and St. Edward of Mendon parishes
and some of the surrounding area.

The active members of this praesidium works include:
- Parish census calls
- Nursing Home visits
- Bereavement visits
- Teaching Parish School of Religion Classes
- Friendly door-to-door visits
- Visiting the sick and shut-ins
- Visiting fallen away Catholics
- Making rosaries
- Oversee the circulation of the traveling Fatima statue
- Working at the Legion of Mary Booth at the Adams County Fair
- Working at the Legion of Mary Booth at the Illinois State Fair
- Sponsoring quarterly days of recollection

Would you like to have the pilgrim statue in your home for a couple weeks? The pilgrim statue of Our Lady of Fatima is moved from home to home every two weeks to allow families in the St. Edward, St. Joseph and St. Bridget parishes in the Mendon, Quincy, and Liberty Illinois area a special opportunity to reflect on Our Lady and pray for her intercessions. This is a beautiful statue and is 29 inches tall.
